Movie Friday's

After a long week at school and with no homework hanging over us can only mean one thing... Movie Fridays! Without a doubt, it's our favourite day of the week. The children arrive from school and play, have a snack and then settle down with a few treats to watch a movie for the afternoon.

Daily Activities

At 5pm every day, we run our daily activities. Children will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of fun activities. These change from week to week, parents are sent the weekly agenda on the Friday before the week commences. Some of our current favorites include:

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Table Quiz

  • Chess & Cards

  • Sports
    (Dodgeball, Football, Basketball etc.)

  • Dance Party

  • Karaoke

  • Team Building Games

Homework Supervision

After some down-time and a balanced snack, children make their way to the homework rooms. The environment is quiet to help children concentrate. Supervision is provided and homework journals are checked and signed where necessary. It is important that parents check the child's homework when they get home. We also encourage children to do their reading and spellings at home as well as After School.

Healthy Snack

A healthy snack is served in the atrium every day. We currently do 2 sittings Monday - Thursday to make sure no child is waiting too long and that everyone gets enough to eat! The children sit together and eat from a selection of fresh fruit, yogurts, rice cakes, soda bread, pita, wraps, hams and cheese. We serve water or fruit cordial. This is also a time we use to teach life skills, children tidy up their own plates and cups and make sure chairs are pushed in before being excused.

After School Room

Years of experience tells us that after school, most children just want to relax for a little bit! For this reason, in September 2019, we opened a purpose built After School Room. Children are encouraged to grab a beanbag and a book, relax on the sofa or play some fuzzball before snack time. This is a time to socialise with peers, chat to staff about their day and take a breather after concentrating in school all morning and afternoon.
